Kusog Bikolandia, a partylist representing Region V, has endorsed the senatorial candidacy of Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero in the upcoming May national elections.
In a letter to Escudero, Kusog Bikolandia chairperson, Atty. Jopito Agualada, said the party-list group is backing the veteran legislators’s bid for a Senate seat “without reservation” after its board unanimously approved a resolution endorsing him.
“The Board has decided that we shall officially endorse you as our candidate for Senator in the upcoming 2022 national elections,” said Agualada, whose partylist programs, include, among others, helping the agriculture sector and the tourism industry.
Kusog Bikolandia’s endorsement is the latest addition to the growing list of political groups and officials backing Escduero’s senatorial candidacy.
His legislative agenda is focused on empowering local government units and transitioning the country to economic recovery post-pandemic.
Ang Kabuhayan, An Waray, ARISE, Agimat, BHW, and Magdalo party-list groups have declared their support for the veteran lawmaker’s senatorial candidacy. The Federation of Free Farmers, a 200,000-strong non-government organization considered one of the biggest in the country, said it is also backing him.
The tandems of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan; Senator Ping Lacson and Senate President Tito Sotto; and Senator Manny Pacquiao and Rep. Lito Atienza have adopted Escudero, a consistent topnotcher in various independent pre-election surveys, in their senatorial slates.
UniTeam vice-presidential candidate and incumbent Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte and mayors from CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) and Eastern Samar who belong to the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) have likewise endorsed the incumbent leader of Sorsogon.
